Fishing Report 10/03/2013

Fishing is getting into full swing with lots of action this week and what a perfect weather weekend we have coming up.  Light winds inshore and out to the Big Rock.

The 2nd Annual Spanish Challenge Official Results will be posted soon and the winners will be able to pick up their prizes this Saturday.  I’m sorry for the delay but I want to thank everyone that fished the event this year.

Inshore / Nearshore:

The King Mackerel bite has fired off in a big way over the last few days. Anglers are having no problem getting their limit.  The big ones are showing up with the largest  one we’ve weighed this week being 45lbs.  The action has been over on the east side but yesterday I heard of a few on the west beach.  Anglers are trolling Live Bait but yesterday it didn’t matter.  Those fishing for kings were getting limits on Dead Bait Rigs rigged with Dead Cigar Minnows.

Spanish fishing still’s on “FIRE” with quantities of fish being caught down the beach toward the piers and around the inlet.  Also
